Fox Lake Country Club, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Fox Lake, Illinois.
Fox Lake first opened for play in 1926. The course was designed by Richard P. Nugent
Fox Lake is a challenging and scenic par 72 golf course. Sloping bluegrass fairways, contoured greens and 56 sand-traps along with beautiful trees and a number of water hazards make this a challenging course. On the front nine you should avoid the right side or you will be flirting with disaster. The back nine opens up a bit, but good tee shots are still a necessity. Greens primarily slope back to front with pretty severe breaks.
From the Blue tees, Fox Lake plays to 6,347 yards with a course rating of 71.7 and a slope rating of 128. From the white tees it plays at 6,156 yards with a course rating of 70.8 and a slope rating of 126.
The signature hole at Fox Lake is the 484 yard, Par 4, Hole # 17. Besides the length, the fairway slopes to the left and fairway bunkers pose another hazard. Make a par on this one and you will have definitely earned it.

Always well manicured. Greens are usually fast but true. Some breaks you will never see. You need to play this course a few times to appreciate it. There are several holes with blind shots over rolling hills but once you play this it is very enjoyable. Some internet coupons make this course very affordable.

A very challenging course with large greens. Be prepared a lot of blind shots. A course that makes you think was in great shape with the exception of one fairway that was a little beat up. Will make you come back knowing the tricks behind a few holes. Need rangers on the course for a few blind shots and to keep the pace of play moving. It was a 4-hour round but could have been faster by pushing a slow group.
